Dermal Fillers Beauty Treatments

Dermal Fillers Beauty Treatments – What are they used for?

Dermal Fillers

Where Dermal Fillers can be used. Safe and reliable beauty treatments.

We all want to look our best, you don’t have to be vain to take pride in your appearance and this is not just the concern of the young and foolish.

As we get older our bodies change, our skin isn’t as supple as it was, we get grey hair, most people tend to put on weight and we start to ache and creak.

Bloody awful thought, isn’t it!

There are however processes that can help us hold back the tide of time and give our bodies the boost we need to instil a little more confidence in ourselves.

After all; we live in a era where image really is everything. Social media allows people who, in years before the advent of the Internet, would have been anonymous to all but their family and close friends, to be almost media stars in their own little productions.

Dermal Fillers to the rescue

Facebook and other social media have helped us out, in some ways. There are apps the will “airbrush” your photographs and take years off you (OK, they can also add funny faces and rabbit ears but that is for another time)

This is all well and good but; when you have to actually go and meet people in the flesh, there is nowhere to hide. That is where Dermal Filler can help.

Dermal fillers can be used to fix a variety of concerns related to facial aging, these include the following:

  • Adding volume and smoothing out the deep creases that run from the nose to the mouth (these are called called nasolabial folds or laugh lines, this is caused by the loss of elasticity in the skin).
  • Plumping thin lips and smoothing out vertical lines around the edges of the lips, popular with models.
  • Augmenting cheeks to enhance their shape, often restoring youthful fullness.
  • Filling out depressions (hollows) under the eye area, another ageing sign.
  • Making indented scars from acne or chicken pox more even with surrounding skin.
  • Increasing volume to fill out gauntness in the lower cheek or temple area, which most often occurs due to fat pads shifting beneath the surface of skin.

What is the difference between Dermal Fillers and Botox?

The primary difference between the two is that Botox reduces the activity of muscles in the face that cause wrinkles.

Facial fillers, however, fill the trouble areas with collagen, which helps to stimulate collagen growth in the face as well as plump and lift the skin to replace collagen loss

There are two types of Dermal filler; natural and synthetic

Dermal fillers are available in two varieties: natural and synthetic. Naturally derived fillers, such as hyaluronic acid, provide immediate results but eventually break down and are absorbed by the body.

Results from natural fillers typically last anywhere from three to 18 months. If you want to maintain results, you will need to have the injections repeated after this time.

Natural fillers also present less risk of causing an allergic reaction.

Risks involved with natural fillers include lumping and migrating to another part of the face, although these are rare. Because the fillers eventually break down, any unwanted results are also temporary.

Synthetic fillers don’t break down the way naturally derived fillers do, and although they are considered semi-permanent, the results are often long-lasting.

Your appearance can still change, however, as your skin continues to age or experiences damage from the sun or other external factors.

Risks of synthetic fillers are much the same as natural fillers, but problems can be harder to correct because the substances do not dissipate.

That is the basics of Dermal fillers and a Blog is nowhere to discuss, in depth, something of a personal nature.

The Cosmetics Cop

I think there is an excellent website you may like to look through to give you a greater understanding about Dermal Fillers work, how they are used and what they are made from.

This link will take you to the pages concerning Dermal Fillers, Botox and other types of treatments aimed at anti-ageing.

The website in question is called “The Cosmetics Cop” and it is well worth taking your time to read through it.

From an appearance on the Oprah Winfrey show in 1984, where as a matter of interest, she got the name “Cosmetic Cop”, Paula Begoun has been relentless in her pursuit of beauty treatments and products and telling the world and his wife all about them.

As the name would suggest, this is a website that takes a very close look at all types of cosmetic and beauty treatments.

No punches are pulled and nobody gets off lightly, Paula tells it like it is and has brought out a great book that is a “must read”.

From a simple lipstick to the most complicated surgical practice, this website gives you the good news and the bad news on all sorts of aesthetic and beauty treatments and practices.

I hope you enjoy it and again, we look forward to seeing you at Designed for Beauty very soon.
